I need some unique ideas for a fancy dress costume that I can make for a party. I don't want to buy a pre-made costume or go as pretty much anything that can have the word 'adult' as a prefix, if you know what I mean

My girlfriend and I are going to a fancy dress party next weekend, the theme is "retro" which I think mainly means 60s/70s/80s/90s film & TV-type retro.
I'm not a dressing up kind of guy so I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for how to get a retro fancy dress costume that's cheap, funny, and easy to wear.
Importantly, I have to find it/buy it in 1 week.
Also, if you can think of ideas for my girlfriend & I as a duo, even better... (not Batman and Robin)
i need a fancy dress costume with the budget of about £15 ?? Something a bit sassy but im not the skinniest of girls , its going to be a party full of 13-18 year olds so any ideas would be greatly appreciated : )

i have been given a wig for my daughters fancy dress costume and it is all tangled and frizzy . i have got most of the tangles out but i was wondering if it can be washed and if it could be straightened with hair straightners to get rid of the frizziness ?
